ABCmouse.com Review and Free Year GIVEAWAY!

Our twins, Isabella and Grace, have been learning Pre-K at home with me but they will transition to the public school for Kindergarten in Autumn. While watching TV in the mornings, I have noticed a commercial for ABCmouse.com. Have you seen this subscription based learning commercial?

I usually dismiss paid websites but I decided to check this one out and I am glad I did!

ABCmouse is an early learning academy for children ages 2-6. For only $7.95 a month, parents can have a safe, secure online environment with no advertising, pop-up ads, or links to other sites for their children to learn (and play!).

I love that for the amount I would spend on an app or e-book for my phone, I can have an entire month of learning and play for the twins and our youngest, Evangeline! There is also a FREE first month trial just by signing up with an email address!

During these summer months is a great time to sign up and help your kids get ready for the upcoming school year! I think it would also make a great addition for homeschooling parents to include in their Pre-K and Kindergarten curriculum.

Parents can set up accounts for three children. They get to design a character for themselves, dress them, and then begin their journey learning letters, numbers and other basic concepts. There are “learning paths” that increase in difficulty. With each completed task they earn tickets that they can trade for virtual items, pets and clothes.

There are many activities and subjects that keep our girls entertained. The subjects include math, reading, art, social studies, and science. Kids can visit a Farm or a Zoo to learn fun facts about animals. They can shop with their tickets to decorate their room. They can visit the library to read e-books. There are also a ton of printable worksheets. I love the customizable tracing letter worksheets! I can print out personalized sheets for the twins to practice writing their names and sight words!

Another wonderful feature is the Parent section. Here you can check on each child's progress. If you notice they are gravitating towards the same activities, there is an option to block those activities. Also, parents can customize lessons for each individual child. You can create personal lessons according to certain letters, numbers, subject activities, etc. you wish your child to work on that day! There is also a timer feature so you can limit your child's play time. Once the timer is over, no more ABCmouse for them unless the parents choose to allow more time. I LOVE the customization features for parents on this site!

I can not say enough about how much we love ABCmouse.com. Evangeline is always asking me to “Play Mouse!”. My only disappointment is that I wish it extended into other grade levels! Sophia, who is entering second grade this year, will watch and play on the twins Kindergarten level activities because she loves it! I notice that the girls need very limited help from me while navigating through this site. They are very interactive with it as well, singing the songs out loud and repeating letters and sight words during games and other activities.

Now for the best part!! The generous people of ABCmouse has offered one of my readers
a full-year subscription to ABCmouse.com! An amazing $79 value!
