A Baby Shower!

This past weekend, my family surprised me with a Baby Shower during our book club night! Traditionally, baby showers are only held for the mother's first born but I think this tradition should be thrown to the wayside. It was a sweet little celebration in anticipation of our newest arrival! I think all new babies entering a family should be celebrated, not just the first.

Although there were no baby showers for our other girls since my pregnancy with Madelyn, we do always have a celebration on the birth day! Usually with a birthday cake and typically in the wee hours of the early morning, since that is when I apparently like to deliver babies into the world!

My sister made mini pink cupcakes and pretty onesie cookies for the occasion! She also baked me a loaf of Mother's Bread as a gift. It was a bread rich in fiber, nutrients and whole grains perfect for snacking during these last few weeks of my pregnancy.

My sister-in-law drew a little chart to house our "guesses" for when the baby will arrive, how much she will weigh and how long she will be. My guesses, based on the previous newborns, were that she will arrive on my due date, weigh 8 lbs. 2 oz. and be 20 inches long. We'll see how close my prediction actually is!

My brother also created some Baby Shower Bingo cards with pink chocolate coated candies as markers! Too cute!

For our book club, we had decided to bring a plant to exchange with each other to celebrate the coming of Spring so it was the perfect centerpiece for our table. Pansies, Lilies, Hyacinths and more scented the room!

I also received a pink glittery bag of presents! A pretty pink bath bomb from LUSH, a bag of honey-mustard pretzels (my fave!) from my other sister, a few ruffled Spring onesies and the cutest mary jane socks, a bag of Bellybar Chews, pencils that announce "It's A Girl!" for the girls to take to school once the big day arrives, and a few of my must have baby bath supplies, Baby Bee Buttermilk Soap and Baby Bee Shampoo & Wash both from Burt's Bees and a pack of Seventh Generation's chlorine free baby wipes!

Thanks to everyone that arranged such a wonderful
unexpected surprise for me!!
