One Kind Act

originally uploaded by d4vidbruce on Flickr

I recently discovered this great blog, Kind Over Matter. It is a lovely site with tiny bursts of daily inspiration! Hosted by Amanda Oaks and Jenn Gibson, they dedicate their blog to Kind Acts, Inspirational Art and Kind Projects. They also have a weekly giveaway and a Flickr group!

It is here that I read some posts about "
card drops". Card drops are tiny cards with quotes or messages that you leave somewhere for the next passerby to discover and read. This sounded fun and a great way to spread some kindness!

Wouldn't you love to find a beautiful little card with a quote or inspirational message? I know I would!

I created some cards of my own with quotes on them and distributed them to the members of my family book club! Now five of us will be randomly dropping our cards and tell of our adventures at next week's meeting!

Kind Over Matter has a
free printable pdf of Kindness Cards or you can download mine here: 10 quote cards
. Go spread some joy in the world!

I hope to post some pictures of our random card drops
later this week! Stay tuned!

The best portion of a good man’s life is the little, nameless, unremembered acts of kindness and love.

~ William Wordsworth (1770-1850) English poet

  2. I've done this since I discovered Adrienne Rich's "Dedications" about a decade ago. I'd leave copies of the poem in train stations and bar bathrooms and rest stops...etc.
    An excerpt:
"I know you are reading this poem as you pace beside the stove warming milk, a crying child on your shoulder, a book in your hand
because life is short and you too are thirsty."

I found it online here if you want to look at the whole poem:

I haven't done it in a while, but I'm fixing to take a road trip soon!
