Living Green

We're at the end of another fantastic color week! This week's burst of spring was brought to us by Emily at Shining Egg. Also, there are some great photos posted to the Green Week Flickr group.

Since the world is becoming more mindful of the environment and living greener, I thought I'd post this video from the website, Earth Hour.

Watch it; participate in this historic night. On March 28, 2009 at 8:30 local
time the World Wildlife Fund is asking individuals, businesses, governments and organizations around the world to turn off their lights for one hour. A mere 60 minutes.

Though one hour of darkness will certainly not save the planet, it does make a global statement of concern about climate change and demonstrates the commitment to finding solutions. Last year, 50 million people participated in this event! The lights went out in the Empire State Building, the Golden Gate Bridge, the Coliseum in Rome and the Sydney Opera House. Even Google's home page went dark for the day!

Earth Hour's website has some fantastic information on this event as well as tools to spread the word within your community. They also have a link called Earth Hour Kids which promotes the awareness to children! There are games to play, lesson plans and worksheets for teachers and parents, and so much more. It's a must see!

I'll remind everyone of this great event in future posts.. 22 days and counting! Get excited!
